Aaro were engaged by BHP to structurally refurbish a three-barrel, DN2700 Corrugated Steel Pipe (CSP) on the MAC Line, near BHP’s Yandi Mine Site. The culverts had corroded over time and needed to be refurbished to extend their life and avoid replacement.
To refurbish the culverts, Aaro first grout filled the heavily deteriorated sections that had resulted in voids in the culverts. Then CentriPipe, a Centrifugally Cast Concrete Spray product imported from America under our licensed partnership agreement, was applied to the entire culvert. A total of 157t of CentriPipe was applied to the three culverts.
Aaro were successful in completing the works on-time, on budget and to a high standard. BHP commended Aaro for their project planning, on site supervision and overall ease to deal with throughout the duration of the project.
