Condition Assessment on a DN225 Asbestos Sewer Pressure Main

The Water Corporation of Western Australia asked Aaro to retrieve a coupon from a Hot Tap in an asbestos pressure main, but there was a catch. The job needed to be delivered from quote to completion in only four days.

Aaro was engaged by Water Corporation WA Asset Inspection Team to perform a Hot Tap on the crown of an existing DN225 Asbestos Sewer Pressure Main.

Our team needed to retrieve the coupon from the Hot Tap so the Asset Inspection Team could conduct a phenolphthalein test to determine the degradation of the pipe. Aaro was only given a 4-day timeframe to prepare the quotation, submit the safe work method statement, and complete the works. It was a big task with an added complication, coring the asbestos pressure main was high risk due to the age of the pipe.

Aaro always deliver on time, so we put our most experienced personnel and supervisors on the job.  Together, they ensured the works were performed to the highest standard for safe entry and to eliminate any risks to our staff and contractors on site.
