Details

Description

Arc engaged AARO to rehabilitate aging concrete pipe culverts across its railway network, many of which had exceeded their design life. Issues such as cracks, exposed steel reinforcements, and differential settlement compromised structural integrity, requiring immediate upgrades.

To minimise disruptions, AARO implemented Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) liners. These durable, self-supporting structures were installed under live rail conditions, avoiding track shutdowns.

Key Deliverables

  • Designed GRP liners with a 50-year design life and compliance with Australian standards.
  • Installed liners, headwalls, and aprons to improve structural and hydraulic performance.
  • Conducted CCTV inspections for quality assurance.
  • Delivered comprehensive inspection and safety compliance reports.

The project restored the structural integrity of the culverts, extended their lifespan, and ensured railway safety with minimal operational disruptions. AARO’s efficient delivery and innovative approach achieved high client satisfaction.
